The new extension of Sofia Metro Line 3 along Vladimir Vazov Boulevard will open to passengers after 12:00 PM on 14 August, one day earlier than previously expected.
Following the official opening ceremony, passengers will be able to use the three new metro stations, extending the line beyond Hadzhi Dimitar station:
- Stadion Georgi Asparuhov – located next to Georgi Asparuhov Stadium;
- Besarabia – serving the area around the Decathlon store and the new Lidl supermarket;
- Gen. Vladimir Vazov – the new terminus, located between the Levski V and Levski G neighbourhoods.
The extension had originally been expected to open on 15 August, but according to the latest announcement, passenger service will begin shortly after 12:00 PM on 14 August.
The new section will provide faster metro access for residents of Levski V, Levski G and the surrounding areas along Vladimir Vazov Boulevard, further improving public transport connections in northeastern Sofia.
